I am back in Maryland my friends and boy is Mcmuffin happy to see his Mama!!!
He has been curled up next to me all morning.
Isn't he the sweetest fluffiest muffinman ever?
I had a great time visiting my family in Connecticut this past week. I was able to see almost all of my family members for once, and I spent a lot of much needed QT with my sisters and my nephews.
On Thursday I took my little nephew, Finn, to Lyman Orchards in my hometown.
It is still one of my favorite places to visit when I go home. They have all sorts of fresh fruits and vegetables, PLUS delicious baked goods and a huge pond where you can feed the ducks and geese.

Duck feeding outfit - my sister let me borrow the dress, and then GAVE it to me! Yah!
My mom and I also took Finn to a local farm to get some goodies for dinner....
I know I showed you this photo a few days ago... but there is a good story behind it!! The house was actually where my grandfather and great-grandfather were born!
The old house holds a lot of history, and now is home to "Farmer Joe's" farm and garden stand.
I finally went to see Magic Mike with my sister, mom, cousin, and Aunt this past Tuesday. I was a definite fan of the movie - but think that the storyline was a litttttttle bit annoying. I could have done without "The Kid's" sister as the love interest (she wasn't that cute and looked pregnant at the beach) and the violent beatdown at the college party. Does anyone agree?
On my last day in my hometown, my Mom and I stopped by one of two fantastic vineyards that popped up once I moved out of town. We did a quick tasting at Gouveia Vineyards and bought a bottle of their delicious Cabernet - I wish I had bought two so I could've brought one home with me!
We enjoyed a glass each on their patio and then headed home to have our annual farewell dinner (a tradition that occurs on the last night that I am home).
My sister Tine and I drinking my sister-in-law's homemade Mojitos!
I took a ton of pictures on my camera, but have yet to load them onto the computer (surprise, surprise). In my lazy defense, I was busy all morning trying to create a Sponsors page on the top of my blog!
Check it out...if you're in the market for some ad space!
Thank you so much to Pamela from Our Love Nest for helping me figure out the world of blog sponsorship. You are, for the record, gorgeous, and have been an amazing help!
And for now...I am off to Zumba my butt off.
The amount of wine and food that I ingested while in CT is embarrassing.
After Zumba, I am heading to Wegman's to probably buy a bunch of cheese and bread! Hooray!

Sounds like a wonderful visit with family!! I agree, the story line and kid sister in magic mike was a bit annoying but I thought the movie was pretty good! Some pretty nice eye candy hehe
ReplyDeletePS I miss Wegmans! Where I grew up in NY, we had Wegmans and I loved shopping there! Now that I am in Texas, it is not the same lol Enjoy your grocery shopping:)
Aw there is no Wegmans' in Texas? Granted it is a new addition to my list of fav grocery stores, I don't know what I'd do without it now!
DeleteAren't trips home the BEST?! I loooove your tank, where did you get it?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE trips home :) Thanks about the tank - but sadly it is my sister's tank! It is from Forever 21!
DeleteSounds like a great visit - I wish my sister gave me cute dresses like that!
