Annabelle’s birthday might not be for another nine days, but my sister, Tine, hosted a par-TEA for her and four of her friends yesterday. My other sister, Mom, and I were the co-hosts, but we have to give all the credit to Tine (and her MIL) for setting up a magical day. Without a doubt, Annabelle’s party was the cutest, most fancy birthday tea party we’ve ever seen.
Tine has quite the collection of tea cups and pots, vintage plates and dishes, plus a beautiful home. We served the girls a lovely lunch of homemade chicken bites and potato tots (requested by the birthday princess), with a side of baby carrots and cucumber sticks. The little girls dressed up in their princess costumes and had a dance party. Then we did their makeup for a photo shoot. Finally, each girl decorated a sugar cookie to take home!
The favors for the party: hand-made knit scarves from Grammy, a princess lip gloss, a silly foam friend, and a vintage tea cup
Each little girl tried a little bit of decaf tea with cream and real sugar cubes. I think they were most excited to sip out of the teap cup like a grown up than the actual tea inside, but it was fun to watch the girls try it.
All dolled up and ready for a dance party
I can’t believe she is going to be four years old next week… it feels like yesterday I was pregnant, decorating the house in anticipation of her arrival and Christmas. Now here we are, she’s the one in charge of decorating the house for Christmas and I’m holding back all my Mama tears at how grown up she looks.
